A new year and some new projects

Happy new year!

I hope you're all enjoying 2010. Personally I'm just glad to be alive to experience another year. I had a big scare over the holiday season. Some unexpected health problems. Everything is okay now. I have recovered quite well. Just a few more appointments and everything should be sorted to prevent this kind of thing in the future.

This year I've decided to get things done. You get so much satisfaction by finishing what you start. It's definitely a change worth make. Speaking of change. I also have a couple of routine changes that I'm going to make. I'm wondering if it'll improve my quality of life.

Here are a few projects I'll be working on this year.

Project List

1. 365 Photo Project : Take at least one picture everyday of the year and upload it.

2. Get more sleep : Personally I would normally get about 5 to 6 hours of sleep a night. I'm going to try and increase that to at least 7 hours if not 8 hours of sleep a night.

3. Wake up and leave for work early : If you know me at all then you'll know this change is a hard one for me. Normally I work from 10am to 6pm. Not because those are regular work hours for my company but because I like to sleep-in. Time to make an effort to wake up at 6:00am and get to work by 8am.

4. Go the gym : Starting on Friday I will be going to the gym at least twice a week. I could use a lot more exercise in my life. Hopefully paying for and going to the gym will help to encourage that. It's a good thing I have a support system. My friend is joining with me.

5. Find and work more contracts : I do web design and web development side project as well as working my regular job. One day I might end up working for myself if I can find enough constant work to sustain myself for two years.

6. Finish outstanding web projects : There are a few personal web design and development projects that have been left half finish. It's no ones fault but my own to finish them. Time to flex those organization skills and work through the grind.

7. Finish outstanding home projects : My offline work is just as important as my online work. Again my time management and organization skills will be put to the test.

That's it. So far I've been able to make the change I need to be success with my new routine and I wish I can stick with them for the rest of the year.

Catching up

Today is the start of my new initiative.

I'm going to follow through with a few of my goals.

  • Get fit

  • Finish setting up my business

  • Put more money into savings

  • Finish the new design for this blog

There's quite a few more but those are task that have been pending for awhile now. Like a lot of people I tend to get side track with the changing of priorities but these are the goals that will stick.

The Ultimate TO-DO list

There's no better way to start off the New Year than the 2008 Ultimate TO-DO List.
It covers everything from wealth to sex so you're pretty much set for the year.

It'll be interesting to see what is on this TO-DO list versus my own annual TO-DO list. Considering the number of projects I do in a year I'm sure my list will be a little more exciting tech-wise.

Speaking of TO-DO lists I have yet to write out my goals list for 2008. I have a rough sketch of everything that I would like to complete this year but I should really put down on paper all the goals I would like to achieve.
