Wednesday, January 31, 2007babbling....well i figured out why my work didn't pay me.
there are 31 days in january, not 30. who knew? most likely everyone. yesterday, all my to do's got done. it was a breeze actually. today, i should be sleeping but i'm waiting for the fire alarm test. it's a piercing, screeching sound. it's truly awful. the anticipation keeps me alert. holy this was all so random-ish. Tuesday, January 30, 2007Spread the funny.
If you're having a bad day just watch these and you'll forget what it was that was bugging you.
Russell Peters Lee Evans shop girl...i have a bunch of 'must do' things planned for today.
i should be having some breakfast so i can head out around 9.30am....that's obivously not going to happen since it's passed. and here i sit, browsing sales online. i feel this complusion to shop online. and the items are not all for me. i doubt i will because i'm aware that visa money is not real money and i have other things to pay for, more important things. stupid work not paying me yet. stupid work for being late with my overtime from christmas. stupid me for even clicking the sale link. :o( Monday, January 29, 2007Goals
I was cleaning up around my desk and I found a list of goals that I wrote down.
After reading the list I took sometime to review the goals and I'm feeling OK about the start of the year. I have started working toward a couple of my goals but I think I need to do some serious planning and take action to achieve these goals. I think this year is all about finishing what I've started. whatever....this is my soapbox
i am convinced that the kids that live in our apartment complex are starving for things fun and creative. on numerous occasions i encounter children playing in areas that really aren't that fun....and when i say "playing" that usually means defacing or stealing something. one night i almost took some kid out with all the glass recycling because he was hiding inside the bin. his friend was angry with me because i gave up their hiding spot. fucking brats. another day i walked in on a gang of kids climbing the walls of the newly renovated laundry room. they bolted, with the large bottle of windex that was left behind by the cleaning staff. i saw these kids later in the day, sadly they did not drink the windex but instead were unloading it on cars, each other and the building itself. oooh, what fun! which brings us to today. there was screaming, for a good hour...hour and a half. i'm trying to sleep because of work tonight and have resorted to yelling at no one in particular since they're outside and can't hear me. jon investigates and finds out that they are sliding down hills in the snow. i immediately feel bad because sledding is wicked fun and for once they're not shooting cleaning products at anyone or hanging out in gross recycling bins. i finally get out of bed to see where exactly this mountain of fun is and i become instantly angry. angry because these kids were screaming, like roller coaster ride screaming over a hill (haha)....it was a slope that was barely the length of me. it was sad. it was pathetic. and i know for sure, it couldn't have been that fun. these kids have obviously never actually been sledding. i doubt they've experienced any real fun. i mean they ride their bikes around a parking lot. they play hockey in the covered garages. what are their folks doing? oh wait, i know...they're prolly the ones smoking crack and stealing license plates. no time for fun when you're busy pretending like you don't have kids.
Friday, January 26, 2007CSS will set me free.
I've been creating sites in HTML for years now. I've only really used Castcading Style Sheets (CSS) to apply styles to text and links and all of that good stuff but I decided to have a closer look at CSS.
Let me tell you that the world of CSS is amazing. CSS is one of the greats piece of technology that has hit the web. It is seriously the greatest ways to control the look and feel of your site. Using minial HTML and a few DIV tags you and make your site looks completely amazing. I have a few examples that I have to post but I just wanted to share with everyone that I love CSS. Thursday, January 25, 2007it's a dog day....really.well today is the day we find out if we're gonna end up with a three legged dog. bean is at the vet for her check up and xray to see if her leg has healed properly. i'm no doctor but if the last week and a half of her jumping like she used to and the running (oh the running) around are any indication, her leg is just fine...pins, screws and wires included. our little bionic dog will be home this afternoon and i can finally get rid of that eye sore crate she's been living in for the past two months. the apartment is small, any free space is welcomed space. if you've got some get well whammies, send 'em to the kato animal hospital in toronto...it's on the danforth.
Wednesday, January 24, 2007Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin![]() Today I beat Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. It was a pretty good game. I like the fact that you can swap between two different characters. I think its great that each character has a certain skill set. The fact that they have special moves that they can do together is very cool. The only draw back is that you have to grind the same enemies over and over to get certain items. This can get boring if you've beaten the same monster 200 times. Over all the games was easy to play. It had a couple new ideas that are a bit different from Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow but still very fun to play. I would recommend it to anyone that has a Nintendo DS. Monday, January 22, 2007Books I need to add to my wish list.
I just found a bunch of books I need to add to my wish list. I've been adding many books to my reading list and these books will make a great addition to my library.

The past few weeks have been kind of crazy. I bet you're all asking, "What have you been doing with yourself?"
Let see if I can break it down for everyone. I wanted to enjoy my holidays this year so I took the week off between Christmas and New Year's Eve. That was the best I could have done! I totally relaxed. Put my feet up and enjoyed my holidays even if we didn't get any snow here in Toronto. Christmas eve / Christmas day were both awesome. Tamara and I went to my parents place on Christmas eve to enjoy a big Christmas eve dinner and exchange gifts early. Christmas day I went to my sisters place and joined the rest of my family to exchanges Christmas gifts, enjoy Christmas dinner and have a ton of fun. The rest of the week was relaxing. I played with all of the new toys. New Year's Eve was so much fun. One of my good friend's birthday is on the 31 of December so Tamara and I went with a few of our friends and had a great New Year's Eve / Birthday party for Dan. I'll have to admit that the King's Arms in Oakville is a great way to send New Year's Eve and your birthday. I went back to work on the Tuesday, January 2nd 2007, which was alright. I was starting to go a little stir crazy chillin' in my apartment all week. The weekend after New Year's Eve was my birthday. I decided to celebrate my birthday on Jan 6th with a few friends at Arnold's Funland in Oakville. Which was pretty good. I enjoyed playing darts, listening to some good tunes and drinking as much as I could. The gifts were pretty good too. Thanks to everyone that came. The next day, my actual birthday, was pretty good too. My had dinner with my most of my family and enjoyed some tasty cake. This week at work has been pretty smooth. Nothing to exciting to report. This weekend is Tamara's birthday. I'm not quite sure what she has planned but I have a good idea that we'll be going to see Stomp the Yard. I can't wait to give her the birthday gift I picked up last night. I still have some more shopping to do but I'll be done before Sunday.
