whatever....this is my soapbox
i am convinced that the kids that live in our apartment complex are starving for things fun and creative. on numerous occasions i encounter children playing in areas that really aren't that fun....and when i say "playing" that usually means defacing or stealing something. one night i almost took some kid out with all the glass recycling because he was hiding inside the bin. his friend was angry with me because i gave up their hiding spot. fucking brats. another day i walked in on a gang of kids climbing the walls of the newly renovated laundry room. they bolted, with the large bottle of windex that was left behind by the cleaning staff. i saw these kids later in the day, sadly they did not drink the windex but instead were unloading it on cars, each other and the building itself. oooh, what fun! which brings us to today. there was screaming, for a good hour...hour and a half. i'm trying to sleep because of work tonight and have resorted to yelling at no one in particular since they're outside and can't hear me. jon investigates and finds out that they are sliding down hills in the snow. i immediately feel bad because sledding is wicked fun and for once they're not shooting cleaning products at anyone or hanging out in gross recycling bins. i finally get out of bed to see where exactly this mountain of fun is and i become instantly angry. angry because these kids were screaming, like roller coaster ride screaming over a hill (haha)....it was a slope that was barely the length of me. it was sad. it was pathetic. and i know for sure, it couldn't have been that fun. these kids have obviously never actually been sledding. i doubt they've experienced any real fun. i mean they ride their bikes around a parking lot. they play hockey in the covered garages. what are their folks doing? oh wait, i know...they're prolly the ones smoking crack and stealing license plates. no time for fun when you're busy pretending like you don't have kids.
