the summer of suck...

...has ended, as far as movies go.
finally a film that has lived up to and passed it's expectations...at least in my opinion. to be honest i wasn't expecting much from clerks II, considering the disappointment i encountered when it came to xmen 3, superman returns and even pirates was a bit off, good but not fantastic.
who knew jokes about porch monkeys, pooters, interspecies erotica and someone tucking it back would be the things to make me laugh and actually feel okay about paying money to waste a couple hours? this is how it's supposed to go.
and the moral of the story is keep it simple.
kevin smith was the king of this...clerks, mallrats, chasing amy-can't get much better than those and i'm glad to see him go back to something familiar and not fuck it up. the only thing missing was that the whole movie wasn't black and white but i liked the nice touches at the top and bottom of it.
i guess everyone grows up eventually...in a way.
